What you should know about the fair and how to prepare to it

  • Admission to the fair

The admission to the fair is only possible with a ticket. The tickets are available between now and 9 February 2018 and can be purchased in the online ticket shop. You can buy a one-day ticket or a ticket for all days of the fair (permanent ticket).
A one-day ticket purchased via the online service costs € 38.00, at the fair — € 42.00.
A permanent ticket (for all days) purchased via the on-line service costs € 50.00, at the fair — € 61.00.

  • Travel to Nuremberg

By airplane:

There are direct flight between Kyiv and Nuremberg available. WizzAir airlines offers a convenient flight: on the eve of the exhibition to Nuremberg and on the last day of the exhibition back, the cheapest ticket can be purchased for € 120.
Nuremberg is an international airport which can be accessed by scheduled flights with one transfer in other European airports. To buy a ticket to a scheduled flight, contact representative offices of international airlines, travel companies or buy tickets online.
1) most airlines now offer flights without baggage, with hand luggage ONLY. Please, read carefully the rules for the caring of the hand luggage before purchasing tickets.

2) mentioning BioFach in notes while booking a train ticket you will get a discount. This can be useful when combined travel (plane / train).

By bus: The travel time by bus is about 30 hours. The price of a single ticket as of 10.01.2017 starts from UAH 1700 per person depending on a carrier: https://busfor.ua.

By car: the distance from Kyiv to Nuremberg is about 1,644 km, which takes at least 20 hours (please, note the necessity to cross the border). Calculate the route.

  • Travelling within Germany and Nuremberg

To travel within Germany: you can either rent a car or travel by railway.

Getting around in Nuremberg: the most convenient means of public transport in Nuremberg is the underground. If you have a BioFach visitor ticket, you can travel free of charge during the fair from 10 по 13 February. The exhibition centre is at Messe station, U11 underground line.   • Visa

Citizens of Ukraine do not need a visa if you have a biometric foreign passport to enter the territory of the European Union countries that are part of the Schengen area and to the territory of the Schengen States-associated countries. More about visa-free regime.

If for some reason you need a visa, contact the German Embassy in Kiev for a visa.

  • Staying in Nuremberg

!!! Dear visitors to the International Fair BIOFACH, please, note that the fair is visited by approximately 50,000 visitors every year, so the prices grow closer to the fair dates. Please, take care of your accommodation during the fair in advance. To book accommodation in Nuremberg you can use a special service for BIOFACH visitors or online hotel booking services https://www.tripadvisor.com and https://www.booking.com. The average price ranges from € 120 to € 170 per person per night.

  • Miscellaneous

Parking: parking at the territory of the fair is fee-based € 9.00 per day (available on-line). Three e-charging stations with two connections each are available on the NürnbergMesse site.

Weather: the average air temperature in Nuremberg in February is 4 — 8 С during the day and 0 — -4 С at night, possible precipitation.

Success story

BIOFACH is a leading international fair of organic products which is held annually in February in Nuremberg (Germany). It all began with 197 exhibitors in the Ludwigshafen Stadthalle in 1990. Some 2,500 visitors attended the «1st European Trade Fair for Organic Food and Natural Products» at that time.

The exhibition was organized in Nuremberg for the first time in 1999 and brought together as many as 1,276 exhibitors and more than 21,000 visitors. Since then BIOFACH has developed into the World´s Leading Trade Fair for Organic Food and is firmly established.

The natural cosmetics segment was separated from the exhibition in 2007 and since then has been organized parallel to BIOFACH as VIVANESS (International Trade Fair for Natural and Organic Personal Care).

In 2017 2,785 companies from over 88 countries took part in BIOFACH, including producers, traders, associations, certification bodies and other organizations involved in organic business. The fair was visited about 50,000 visitors from 134 countries.
